Who Is ‘Arthritis Cure’?
Arthritis Cure is a personal blog where I share my personal experience and discoveries in my pursuit of a cure for my rheumatoid arthritis. The statements made below are accurate to the best of my current knowledge and understanding. I am not an expert in privacy policies or cookies, however I am doing my best to comply with current EU user consent policy and the requirements of the EU ePrivacy Directive and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
What Personal Data Does Arthritis Cure Collect and Why Is it Collected?
Comments
When visitors leave comments on my blog it collects the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymised string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Media
Currently there is no facility for visitors to upload any form of media. Therefore no visitor media is collected.
Contact Form
My blog’s contact form is for advertising/collaboration/promotional enquiries only and is not intended for use by site visitors in relation to rheumatoid arthritis queries. The information collected by the contact form is only used for the purpose of replying to the enquiry made and is not shared with any third parties.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on my blog you may opt-in to have it save your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

These third-party ad servers or ad networks use technology to deliver the advertisements and links that appear on https://www.arthritis-cure.co.uk, sent directly to your browsers. My blog shows a user consent message at the foot of the page allowing the user on their first visit to allow/accept (by clicking the ‘OK’ button) the use of cookies in their browser. This complies with recent GDPR legislation requirements for websites to obtain explicit consent from users before leaving behind or reading files such as cookies on a user’s browser.

Embedded Content from Other Websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.
Analytics
My blog https://www.arthritis-cure.co.uk does not currently use Google Analytics or any other dedicated statistical data gathering service. However, partly due to our participation in the Google AdSense program, Google does collect general statistical data concerning visitors to my blog. For example, country, browser type, pages visited on my blog and so on. It does not collect any personally identifiable information about my visitors, just general statistics to help me improve the service my blog provides.
What Rights You Have over Your Data
If you have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data held about you, including any data you have provided. You can also request that any personal data be erased. This does not include any data Arthritis Cure is obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
Where Arthritis Cure Sends Your Data
Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service. Other than this, your personal data (from comments or contact form enquiries) is not currently shared with any other party or service.
